Guardian monster

Mythical beast guarding the Sacred Way to Ming Tombs.

Located 50 kilometres northwest of Beijing, the Ming Tombs built from 1409 -1644 A.D are where thirteen emperors of the Ming (1368-1644), their empresses and concubines are buried. Along the path are bizarre, mythical stone monsters standing guard.
