THEMES
1. How do you see the contribution of SACU and its significance to us today?
SACU was founded by Dr. Joseph Needham in 1965 with the support of others determined to promote intercultural and international communication globally. You are encouraged to explore the history of SACU, by focusing on a person or on an event or events and tell us how you would promote understanding between different cultures and peoples today.
2. How do you see the two capital cities of UK and China – London and Beijing?
London and Beijing are both major world cities. To promote understanding between the UK and China, the two capital cities should be able to work together in many ways. You may either present an understanding of aspects of one city in a foreigner’s eyes or do a comparative study of aspects of the two cities with suggestions on potential for collaboration.
If you have contacts with any senior schools please do forward this flyer to them. The competition welcomes entries from all senior school children and there are great prizes for the winners!
