As Shengqiang struggles unsuccessfully to juggle the demands of his mistress and his wife, the biggest surprises of all come from Gran herself…
Join the author Yan Ge and the translator Nicky Harman on the evening, and catch a glimpse into the life of a typical dysfunctional family in modern China. Hear how Yan Ge put her mastery of the Sichuan dialect to excellent use, and how Nicky Harman responded to that challenge during her translation.
