SACU ChinaChat online event for SACU members: 

The May Fourth Movement and its Cultural Impact,  a discussion led by Rob Stallard and Michael Sheringham, Thursday 21 January, 6.00-7.00 pm

 

An online presentation and discussion on the May Fourth Movement, the patriotic protests at the end of WW1 and the literary/cultural movement that accompanied it.

 

Rob Stallard, SACU Vice President and a long-standing member of SACU, has written many articles for China Eye and produces his own series of online histories of China and aspects of Chinese life and culture.

 

Michael Sheringham has also been a long-standing member of SACU and regularly contributes articles to China Eye.

 

The introductory talks will be based on the articles in China Eye by Rob Stallard: No. 61 (Spring 2019) and by Michael Sheringham: No. 62, (Summer 2019).

 

This is s discussion meeting for SACU members only: the Zoom link for registration has been sent out with the January newsletter.
