2017 Chinese Art Film Showcase – Soul on a String
Co-organised by Shanghai Art Film Federation and SOAS China Institute, 2017 Chinese Art Film Showcase presents four award-winning contemporary Chinese art films that center on the persistence of traditional values in the process of China’s rapid modernization. This film showcase intends to help contemporary Chinese art films reach a wider audience and to provide a platform for the discussion of issues related to contemporary Chinese culture and society.

Museum of London Docklands Celebrates Chinese New Year
Museum of London Docklands No.1 Warehouse, West India Quay, London, United KingdomCelebrate the Year of the Dog with this special family day. Learn how to ribbon dance, try your hand at traditional calligraphy, listen to traditional Chinese stories, watch a lion dance and much more. What better way to start the new year? Free drop-in. Every year since opening in 2003, the museum has hosted a celebration at the museum to mark the Chinese New Year. This is in recognition of the Chinese community in the area, and the cultural significance of Limehouse to the area.
